big liar

Students are supposed to tell two interesting stories - one of them being false, the other true and have their partners guess the true one. To properly set this activity up, I first tell them my own two stories, followed by my students' questions and only after asking a number of them are they allowed to take a guess.
It can be used as a warm-up activity or to revise The Past Simple tense or asking questions in an attractive and communicative way. Thanks to the surprise element in it, the activity seems suitable for most levels and age groups, after all most of us enjoy a good story that can keep you at the edge of your seat.
Give it a try!
